Leadership
Your Legacy?
April 1, 2023

One of the greatest sporting teams in the world are the New Zealand All-Blacks. Regardless of their small population year after year they have one of the most dominating teams in world rugby. One only has to watch them, rugby fan or not, and you can see the passion, commitment, courage and dedication that truly has them among the sporting elite. One of the most striking mottos that the team has is “leave the jersey in a better place” (Kerr, 2013). There is a legacy created by All-Black players that exudes what it means to pull on the jersey and give it all they have. What qualities do you want to bring to your jersey? What do you want from those who will follow in your footsteps to emulate? How will you know that you have left your jersey in a better place? Think outside of the win/loss column and envision what you will stand for in your sporting career in the moment, and the future, as you lead others to discover their legacy. Sport as Life can kickstart this process and support you every step of the way!
