From ‘NeverKusen’ to Historical Greatness
May 28, 2024
The undefeated run put together by Bayer Leverkusen, 51 games, across the Bundesliga along with domestic and European cup competitions is truly one for the ages in professional football. Prior to this Bayer had been more known for being runner-up in the Bundesliga five times resulting in the name given to them in the title of this blog. There are so many questions that could be asked regarding how over the space of 361 days they had not been beaten. Was it due to Confidence? Effort? Focus? Attentional control? Team identity? Team goals? Grit? Mental Toughness? There could be so many more reasons for their remarkable run. Many will say there was a lot of talent or just the right chemistry and both would likely be correct. One thing is for sure you don’t go achieve this without a blend of physical, tactical, technical, and psychological skills also known as mental performance. Let Sport as Life, Inc. take you on this journey of learning towards achieving your own greatness!
