Considering the True Team Player
January 3, 2024
There are many facets to being a great athlete such as confidence, motivation, the ability to self-regulate, persisting with effort and being able to bounce back when the going gets tough. Then it is another thing all together to consider what this looks like in a team context. Specifically, where is the boundary between an individual athlete’s desire to perform optimally and still fit into the team game plan? How does an athlete develop the self-awareness to gauge when their own level of performance, whether it be peak or not, impacts the rest of the team? There is than old saying that “a team is only as strong as it’s weakest link” which generally refers to the weakest or least successful member. However, could a team be only as strong as the sense of cohesion that exists among all its members? Having a productive and resilient team is a process that needs to be built with a strong foundation and cultivated over time towards peak performance at the right time! Sport as Life can support this process with teams that is uniquely customized to the personality and needs of your group. Contact us and find out how!
