Why we believe in ‘Sport as Life’
March 3, 2022
Achieving an optimal balance of mental and physical health is a lifelong process. The notion of ‘balance’ in life is often heard and talked about but it is not so easy to accomplish in a society that is fast paced, demanding, and requiring us to multi-task to meet expectations. Optimal mental and physical well-being is a relational process that requires an ability to be aware of who we are in the world to effectively communicate and function with those around us. Through the power of sport there are infinite opportunities to enhance mental and physical well-being through the rich relationships that are developed and these in themselves will help contribute to optimal health across the lifespan. The impact of melding the lessons of sport to our everyday lives allows us to further increase mental and physical well-being towards healthier and productive communities that will serve future generations to come.
We are humbled and privileged to have experienced the power of sport and the innumerable benefits it has provided us in our lives. Our past work with athletes, teams, parents and coaches has taught us that now more than ever is the time to utilize sport as the foundation for success and flourishing for all to experience.
